Senior Creative DirectorBbdo China (Beijing) Aug 2010 - Jun 2013Only three years, yet a lifetime of real work in one of the most amazing countries on the planet for an absolutely fantastic client - Mercedes-Benz.My responsibilities included strategic and creative concept development and production as part of the small team tasked with growing the Mercedes-Benz and Smart car brands in the world’s most competitive and fastest growing markets. As the lead creative on these two multi-million dollar accounts, I also managed a 50 plus strong creative team, and shared responsibility for over 200 staff in total. Fun times were had in Beijing where we produced outstanding, multi creative award winning work (and several Effies) for China’s most prestigious automotive brand.Every two months I would fly back to the Netherlands for a break and some fresh air - but soon got bored. So I worked with a local through-the-line agency - GiDesign and sister company Not on Paper (digital).
