As a member of the Research and Exploratory Development Department (REDD), I collaborate with various internal stakeholders to develop and execute compelling outreach initiatives, plan Department and Mission Area events, and promote a positive workplace culture. I aim to foster a highly collaborative, fulfilling, and fun environment. Some of my specialty areas are events, environmental graphics, and staff engagement.

I instructed two undergraduate courses per semester in COMM 2004: Public Speaking, while also assisting with COMM 2084: Media and Society, managing classes of up to 140 students. I maintained regular office hours and prioritized creating an inclusive environment that supported students from diverse backgrounds and academic disciplines. Collaborating closely with my supervisor, I reviewed data and developed instructional strategies to meet specific student learning objectives. Additionally, I utilized strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly present course material, integrating technology such as lesson recordings to provide a modern, well-rounded classroom experience.

I compiled and analyzed annual data to produce a comprehensive report, ensuring that the marketing teams' plans and accomplishments were aligned with senior management's objectives. In collaboration with the communications team, I helped promote internal company programs, initiatives, guiding principles, and the organization’s mission. Additionally, I proofread and edited materials prepared by staff, ensuring accuracy in spelling, grammar, and style. I effectively managed multiple projects at once, demonstrating a keen attention to detail in the preparation of marketing materials.

I ensured brand integrity and consistency in internal communications by monitoring the quality of marketing materials, including flyers and direct mail letters for fundraising campaigns and special events. Additionally, I appeared on local news programs and collaborated with media outlets to promote adoptable animals within the community. I assisted in event management, helping to plan two major annual fundraisers, while also building relationships with community partners to secure sponsorships and donations, both monetary and in-kind, for special events. Furthermore, I created various content for the organization, including news stories, press releases, website updates, and interviews.

I generated and pitched original content ideas for the Let’s Wed Hampton Roads blog, creating engaging weekly blog posts. I also reviewed and edited submitted features, ensuring high-quality, unique content for the blog. In addition to writing and editing guest posts, I contributed to the creation of the Let’s Wed Hampton Roads e-newsletter. I managed social media platforms, including Instagram, Pinterest, Blogstomp, and WordPress, to effectively market and promote the brand.

I collaborated with the communications team to promote internal company programs, initiatives, guiding principles, and the overall mission. I worked across multiple levels of the organization to develop adaptable communication strategies. I also handled data entry, inventory management, and video production for the university, helping to align the brand image with key stakeholders. Additionally, I curated blog posts and managed social media content for the university’s website and media channels. I also developed an independent project focused on showcasing student activities to prospective students interested in CNU.

I supported incoming students in their transition to CNU and the President’s Leadership Program, helping them acclimate to campus life and the program’s expectations. I facilitated group sessions with minimal supervision, providing guidance and fostering a supportive environment. Through effective communication, I served as a source of encouragement and embodied the spirit of a CNU Captain to inspire confidence and engagement among new students.

I produced articles for Christopher Newport University's branch of The Odyssey Online, an online magazine.

I supervised a team of 4-10 volunteers for the center, ensuring smooth operations and resolving any issues that arose before, during, or after events. I provided excellent customer service to theater patrons and managed event logistics, including organizing, setting up, and breaking down for each event. My role involved overseeing volunteers and ensuring the success of each event through effective coordination and problem-solving.

I managed and organized databases and contact lists, while also coordinating publicity materials for various initiatives. My responsibilities included organizing, archiving, screening, and logging materials to ensure efficient record-keeping. I handled data entry, inventory management, editing, grant writing, and contributed to special projects. Additionally, I collaborated on video production and contributed content to the blog and social media pages to support the organization's online presence.
