I’m a marine engineer with over 10 years’ experience on a variety of passenger ships. Progressing from junior to Chief engineer, and passing the Class 2 unlimited Certificate of Competency, I have recently gained a First Class Honours Degree in Engineering and Management. Princess Cruises provided my cadetship and first taste of the sea. I moved from there to high speed catamarans, and then to smaller conventional ro-pax ferries. Through this time, I have managed contractors on numerous refits in drydock, overseen installation of new machinery and systems, used creativity and innovation to problem solve, and become responsible for the safe and efficient running of the vessel.In April 2015 I gained an unlimited Class 2 Certificate of Competency, via distance learning. I am a holder of all the relevant STCW95 certification, including HELM(M). I am the Technical Department representative on the Ships Safety Committee at Wightlink.I graduated with a First Class Bsc(Hons) in Engineering and Management Studies in 2018, through the Learning at Work programme at Portsmouth University.
