I am a communications coordinator working on both the Computing, Environment and Life Sciences directorate and the Photon Sciences directorate. I am specifically assisting on communications supporting two new Laboratory updates, the installation of the exascale supercomputer, Aurora, and the upgrade of the Advanced Photon Source.

On the communications side, I handled our social media presence, newsletters, assisted with in-person events & managed Zoom webinars, and wrote & edited web content. On the campus engagement side, I oversaw our internship program, campus programming, and worked closely with student groups to share EPIC work and events.

As Communications Associate, I wore a lot of hats. I handled engagement tasks for Regional Education Laboratory (REL) Midwest, REL Southwest, the Career & Technical Education Research Network, and the Midwest Comprehensive Center, which all lie under the Institute of Education Sciences, the research arm of the U.S. Department of Education. I lead in-person events and webinars, as well as assisted on the production of public television programs and videos. Additionally, I collaborated with researchers to bring their work to life through blog posts, videos, infographics, and more.

In this role, I handled all aspects of Conserve Lake County's communications. This included communications planning, newsletters, social media, web content, and many other tasks.

While at Toptal, I focused on recruiting potential prospects for partnerships and collaboration. I acted as the face of Toptal, speaking with schools and tech blogs all over the world to manage and maintain long-term relationships.

As a contractor with EPA's Office of Research and Development, I worked on the Science Communications Team covering Safe and Sustainable Water Resources and Homeland Security. My daily activities included web content, blogging, social media, crafting the quarterly newsletter, stakeholder outreach, communication plans, creating fact sheets and printed material, and compiling website analytics. My biggest success at the US EPA was the construction and administration of a blog outreach pilot program. My goal was to increase water-related blog page views by 10%, and I succeeded with a 50% increase in readership.

As an intern, I took on the responsibility of analyzing district energy, food waste, & active transportation strategies for the City and provided my recommendations. Additionally, I assisted in administering Beat the Meter Blitz program and managed the City’s bi-weekly sustainability newsletter.
