Lara is a Prosecution Attorney of the Human Security and Privacy Cluster of the Philippine Department of Justice (DOJ) with focus on Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children (OSAEC), Trafficking In Persons (TIP), and Smuggling of Migrants (SOM) by Sea.As Junior Associate at MOSVELDTT Law, she was part of a public interest litigation for press freedom before the Supreme Court in defense of a Nobel Peace Prize laureate's news company. She was also instrumental in the settlement of a patent infringement dispute crucial to the entry of cheaper cancer medicine into the country.As Political Affairs Officer III at the House of Representatives, she was briefly involved in legislative agenda focused on trade and industry, foreign affairs, climate change, energy, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), revisions of law, and rural development.Lara is an alumna of the University of the Philippines (UP) Baguio, San Beda University (SBU) College of Law Manila, and The Hague Academy of International Law (THAIL). Aside from her role at the DOJ, she also works as a part-time Bar Exam Coach at Jurists Bar Review Center.
