- Part of a team working with the British Council to create a new shared service charging model to enable better business decisions.- Reviewed Musgrave Group's Service Desk maturity in the UK and Ireland. Advised on their new IT Operating Model and Single Point-of-Contact Service Desk.- Assessed NFU Mutual's call centre operation with respect to their people, processes and tools, and advised on tactical and strategic areas for improvement.- IT Work-stream Lead at Virgin Care Ltd responsible for a current state assessment and development of a target operating model.

- Virtualisation Work-stream Lead at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP responsible for a team who designed and implemented a VMware-based infrastructure suitable for hosting guest servers, and global delivery of Citrix XenDesktop, from two German data centres.- Architected an infinitely extensible backup and archiving solution for LGC who are required to keep forensic instrument data in a readable format for up to 31 years.- Bid-team member for a successful $5m data centre transformation consulting project bid for Lloyds Banking Group.- Transformation Architect at TUI Travel with responsibility for delivering improvements in the Dell Managed Service that reduced cost of delivery whilst improving customer service.

- Led the CMDB Work-stream at Serco for a project that transitioned a local government customer to BMC ITSM 7.5 and BMC Atrium CMDB.- Architected a 'zero data loss' Microsoft Windows-based IT infrastructure for Verisk Health, and advised on Service Delivery, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.- Identified meaningful KPIs for critical applications (e.g. SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse) for Accenture's outsourcing customers. Facilitated workshops to move stakeholders towards business-centric SLAs.

- Saved Henkel KGaA 22% (€3.5m) on IT costs over three years by migrating their existing, ageing, infrastructure to an Intel-architecture based virtualised and consolidated solution.- Architected a telemedicine project for the National Health Service (NHS) that integrated a number of disparate cutting-edge technologies into a cohesive, easily demonstrable platform: the Home Healthcare Hub (HHH).- Led a comprehensive data centre assessment at the Dutch Ministry of Defence (DTO) and the subsequent migration to a VMware-based Service Oriented Infrastructure.- Reduced the number of managed servers at KKH and delivered a flexible, scalable architecture with enhanced business continuity that ensured compliance with regulatory demands.- Invited to speak at the BMC UK Summit, and at BMC events in Madrid and Vienna, on my work with Henkel & KKH.- Led a site selection project for HSBC’s data centre migration in Mumbai. Managed an international team that provided an independent opinion on the potential causes of the multiple data centre problems, advised on alternative site selection and ran a risk assessment.- Assessed Tesco’s Microsoft Windows Operational Framework. Authored the Operations Methodology and Enterprise Management sections of the report. Edited the final report and delivered the findings to board-level members of Tesco’s IT management team.

- Assessed Syngenta's IT estate, spread across more than 100 countries, and made architectural recommendations that allowed them to dispense with over 2,000 servers.- Rationalised COLT Telecom's BMC PATROL implementation, and wrote procedures for the acceptance of new customers into the live environment.- Defined procedures, standards and KPIs for Service Management for the Cooperative Bank.- Automated Compaq's existing, manually monitored, Enterprise Management structure.- Designed and implemented a Business Dashboard at GE Consumer Finance that displayed live and historical KPI data.

The role typically involved providing “first-steps” advice to companies who were without an Enterprise Management strategy, and formulating concrete plans with senior management to make a swift and efficient move into Enterprise Management. In addition, I architected and managed projects to provide effective Enterprise Management solutions to both monitor existing systems and establish new processes that leveraged the functionality of Unicenter TNG.

Managed a team of IT staff responsible for database development both for internal use and sale to third parties, user training and support. Duties included advising management and business groups on both planned and innovative uses of IT.
