Unfortunately, PSINet collapsed in a $4 billion dollar bankruptcy, causing our closely-associated incubator to shut down prematurely. -

The focus was on implementation of leading-edge parental control features integrated with entertaining and interactive communication tools for kids. After ConnectSoft was sold, the JV partnership was severed, nevertheless I was asked to remain on the Ruksun Board of Directors. Ruksun expanded contract services and ventured successfully into applications for portable Windows devices using Microsoft's Windows CE lightweight operating system. A year later, I exited the Board in order to make a seat available for representatives of ICICI ventures, a marquee venture capital firm in India as they invested.

Working out of my home/basement I recruited 5 undergraduate interns from CMU to spend the summer working with me. Gradually we grew this into a $12 million/year software developer/publisher, with multi-million relationships with UPS, MCI, and SpaceLabs Medical. I sold ConnectSoft to a publicly traded holding company (NASD:AUGI) in 1996 for $22 million. ConnectSoft consulting division sold to United Parcel Service, and later spun out as iShip.com (NASD:STMP). ConnectSoft "NTerprise" division was spun out and sold shortly thereafter to GraphOn Corporation (NASD:GOJO).For a little over a year, I also remained on the Board of Directors of "ConnectSoft Ruksun Software" (Pune, India). This Indian company was later renamed "Ruksun Software Technologies Pvt. Ltd." I helped attract VC investment from ICICI Ventures in India.Note: ConnectSoft was originally formed as "Adonis Corporation". -

Mainly my work was related to graph theory and optimization of heuristics for NP complete problems. Later, I was yanked into the MS Windows 2.0 dev team and given responsibility for all of the printer device drivers. I left MS on positive terms in 1988 to start my own software company. Electronic Circuit Builder & DesignerThe Robotics Institute At Carnegie Mellon University May 1984 - Dec 1986Cambridge, Ma, UsWorking in the Legged Locomotion Laboratory under Professor Marc Raibert, I designed and constructed computer circuits and high-speed data IO circuits for "dynamically stable" running robots, including bipedal robots, quadruped robots and single-leg hopping robots (similar to a pogo stick). This was my part-time job throughout undergrad years and full-time during each summer. The research was funded by DARPA.In 1988 the leg lab moved to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
