About Mike Peterson
I'm a collaborative, results-oriented leader with extensive experience in global operations and strategy & planning. My experience so far has been primarily in the automotive industry, but specific experiences have included global software deployment, consulting, community organizing, and more. With each new challenge (from quality processes to telematics to manufacturing), I've always focused on working across organizations, regions, and leadership levels to take ambiguous problems and develop practical solutions that can be implemented with success. I've also had a passion for education and training, and have lived this out both in and outside of work. In my work experience, I've developed and taught training to thousands of users both live and remotely; outside of work, I've enjoyed organizing, teaching and mentoring students of all ages (grade school, high school and college) to learn new skills by doing them, particularly in the areas of STEM and problem solving with others. In my current work, I'm carrying this forward through teaching at the university level, and also through our small business, Challenge Island, which offers STEAM enrichment workshops to youth ages 4-14 in a variety of formats.
Listed skills include Lean Manufacturing, Competitive Analysis, Strategy, Recruiting, and 17 others.
