Although technically Chief Operations Officer at Blendable, I prefer Chief Strategist and Troublemaker...or Supreme Commander but am having trouble convincing others that should be my official job title. I wouldn't have actively sought a position in the employment solutions industry but the founders promised a fun journey building this business from the ground up - and it has been. We're different and we're staying that way. Responsibilities include finance, marketing, managing strategic partnerships, HR, operations, our development program, etc.Prior to Blendable, I was a Project Management consultant working for fantastic clients in Hong Kong, the UK, Kentucky, Ontario, Seattle and elsewhere. An example engagement was with Sound Transit where I aided the amazing Program Manager responsible for all client-facing technologies in a few projects including the web redesign and trip planner development. I've fulfilled all the academic and experience-based requirements for the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and someday I'll find the time away from work to actually prepare for and write the final exam!Before that, working in community economic development somehow led to founding a international award-winning, high-tech, boutique call centre. And prior was 20 years in the ski industry with senior level positions at Panorama Resort and Cypress Mountain. I'm intensely proud to have served vulnerable and neglected animals as a volunteer since 1997 with an internationally recognized organization in animal welfare and the largest of its kind in North America. I served 2 full terms on the Board of Directors of the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and sat on the Management Committee prior to a change in the governance model. I was honoured to serve as the organization's volunteer President for 3 years in my previous term. I still volunteer regionally and on the provincial Board Support and Nominating Committee.I am exceedingly passionate about enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals and ensuring their protection from cruelty.
