• Performed computational modeling of Next-Generation DNA sequencing sensors using Finite Element Modeling (FEM) in C++ and COMSOL Multiphysics. Used FEM modeling to guide and optimize sensor development.• Electrochemical modeling based on Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS). Developed simple EIS models and compared results with detailed FEM models to analyze the impedance behavior of the sensor.• Monte Carlo simulation and analysis of sensor geometry and chemical composition to enhance the sensor's signal-to-noise ratio.

• Developed and Implemented a massively parallel level-set library in more than 65,000 lines of C++ and MPI, achieving more than 65% parallel efficiency on 4,096 CPU cores. A unique feature of this work combination of grid adaptivity and dynamic load balancing which enables massively large scale calculations with more few Billions of unknowns.• Awarded 2,000,000 core-hours computation time ($130,000 equivalent) through the Nationational Science Foundation's XSEDE program.• Developed high-fidelity numerical algorithms on adaptive Octree and Quadtree spatial data structures. These algorithms enable the efficient and high-resolution solutions of PDEs by automatically allocating computational resources in regions of the domain where they are most needed.• Developed high-resolution solvers for the solution of Poisson-Nernst-Planck and Poisson-Boltzmann equations with applications to electrochemical systems (eg batteries or supercapacitors) and biomolecular calculations (eg electrostatic interactions of proteins)
