European Integration Centre

Responsible for providing applications and technology consultancy in the Banking, Defence, Retail and Telecommunications industry sectors for Systems Integration projects throughout Europe. Working as a client-funded consultant and as a solution architect in project delivery, involved in the entire project lifecycle from opportunity development through implementation and support, and utilising the Digital Program Methodology.Achievements include:• Consortium member supplying systems to the MoD for tactical resources management. This used Digital’s secure UNIX, MLS+, which is a CMW implementation. Designed and implemented network, middleware, server, operating system and storage infrastructure over a 1 year period. Contract value: £9M• Working directly for Energis to integrate their OSS/BSS applications for provisioning new services, which were implemented on a variety of platforms, including HP-UX, Windows, AIX, VMS and Solaris. This involved problem definition, user requirements definition, functional design, product selection and identification of business processes to be changed or created. • Systems and Network infrastructure design and installation for a Czech bank to support a new retail banking application. Responsible for requirements definition, solution design and systems installation. Contract value: £5M• EPoS and back-end server implementation at Harvey Nichols incorporating EPoS software from partner RTC. As prime contractor, Digital was responsible for the complete implementation and integration with the existing AS400• EPoS polling application design and deployment for Swedish Retailer Lindex

Head of team providing strategic and technical consultancy to the Telecoms Industry Sales Account Teams and to Industry Marketing, with particular knowledge of Fixed & Mobile Communications, Computer Integrated Telephony, Cable Technology and Back-Office (BSS) systems. Telecoms Booth Manager at DECworld 88 and DECville '90, responsible for 10 month projects to design and build the booth and manage a multinational 60 man team during the exhibition. Responsibilities included working with the partners exhibiting to define and implement integration scenarios, and to build and demonstrate these at the exhibition

Principal Engineer, Corporate Wide Area Communications Engineering (5 years)Software Engineer and Project Manager for Videotex and X.25 product development projects. Manager of an 8 man team developing Digital’s first products to support OSI Transport and Session on VAX VMS. Products were developed for worldwide sale, and development followed a strict phased development methodology, which incorporated product lifecycle management. Products were subject to rigorous inspection and field testing to ensure compatibility, reliability and supportability.
