Resources for Change, (R4C) is a socially responsible consultancy with a significant reputation for innovation in involving people. As a Company, Resources for Change originated in the field of environmental management and today we still link our expertise in this area with work which looks at integrating people and their environment. Our approach is to involve people in sustainable changes, focusing on stakeholder engagement, organisational and community development. Because we work both at grassroots and strategically, we have developed a reputation for ‘bridging the gap’ between sectors and creating real and long-lasting results.

It seemed to me that many of the challenges that society currently faces stem from the nature of societies relationship with the environment. The current economic, political and cultural system too often use the environment as just another collection of resources to be used and abused with out much thought for the consequences. Those consequences are now becoming all too real and to address them successfully society needs to reassess its relationship with the natural world.In the modern world our relationship with the environment is often mediated through organisations, those we work for and those that influence our community and personal lives. Helping organisations move from unsustainable practice to more sustainable ways of working impacts upon all those it comes into contact with and starts a cascade of change throughout society towards more sustainable ways of living.Mike King & Associates was established to help start this cascade, working with organisations to better understand, engage with and act upon the challenge of sustainability.

The Environment Council(TEC) was dedicated to putting sustainability at the heart of people's decisions, choices and aspirations. It was a UK based NGO that pioneered the use of ‘stakeholder dialogue’ as a powerful process for resolving environmental issues. My role in providing leadership to the organisation emcompassed the following:- working with the Board to develop strategy that will effectively achieve the charitable objectives.- creating business models that ensured the delivery of the charitable objects was cost effective and sustainable.- creating a high quality staff team - positioning the organisation as a leader in its field, through effective personal outreach.- providing project support (as project director ) on the largescale/ high risk/ complex end of our project portfolio.I am also an expereinced facilitator and trainer and use these skills regularly in project delivery.

January 2001 – April 2003An International NGO developing innovative solutions for sustainable development through the creation of tri-sector partnerships with the corporate sector and government. Worked in West Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Russia and the UK.Personal Achievements:· Development of effective management team· Strengthening of the governance structure and process· Improvement of partnerships with international affiliates· Establishment of new programmes in Russia, Ghana and Equatorial Guinea

Responsible for developing environmental policy and paractice for the UK largest practical conservation charity, including managing the operational activities in the nine English regions. Responsible for 100+ staff and a budget of £16 million
