About Marina Nowacka
I have always enjoyed two things; to be in a lively and dynamic environment and to meet people from various cultures and backgrounds. While trying out different jobs, I have volunteered and worked with NGOs on a side for several years, until it became clear to me that work with a purpose is key for me and I want to focus my career on NGOs. In 2015 I went back to studying, completed a Master Degree in International Humanitarian Action and have worked in the sector since. ➡️ I’m an NGO worker with experience and talent in building external relations and partnerships, especially with institutional donors but also with other stakeholders. I understand and know how these partnerships contribute to the organisation’s fundraising and advocacy efforts, and its overall growth. I have experience with overseeing and building relations with institutional donors like European Commission, USAID, UN agencies and with other stakeholders – governments, embassies and NGO networks. My other specialties are: project management, grant management, proposal writing, strategic planning, advocacy, written and verbal communication and teamwork. Institutional Donor Relations Specialist
At this position I was responsible for acquiring and managing external relations, mostly with PAH institutional partners (donors, governments, embassies, humanitarian networks) and other stakeholders. I represented PAH at the external events and professional meetings, also in relation to our advocacy goals. I coordinated donor registrations and administered donor platforms. Moreover, I assisted in grants proposal preparations and in verifying donor compliance requirements. Another big area of my work was supporting PAH field offices in building partnerships with institutional donors. I took care of information dissemination within the organisation and knowledge management regarding the institutional donors and trends in the sector. In my everyday work I cooperated with various teams across PAH, both in the head office and partner countries. Additionally, I implemented a year-long training program for the humanitarian organisations in Poland funded by the Dutch Embassy in Warsaw. I mentored a volunteer research group (5-10 persons) and full-time interns.

During this part-time assignment, I coordinated preparation of a visibility material for UNICEF - an animated video about PAH activities at schools in Somalia. In addition, I supported communications team with the ongoing activities.

Main goal of my internship was to conduct a research on ways to strengthen cooperation with PAH business partners. Apart from this, I also participated in the fundraising events, prepared several visual materials for external meetings and was strongly engaged in organisation of a first appreciation event for PAH strategic business partners.
