Moe Jamil has over two decades of experience as a teacher, attorney, and community advocate. Moe is a Deputy City Attorney for the San Francisco City Attorney's Office* and is the co-lead of the office's First Generation Professionals Affinity Group. He also served as the Co-Chair of the California County Counsels Association Taxation Section. Moe has sat on the boards of several community organizations including Russian Hill Neighbors, San Francisco Heritage, and the Union Square Foundation and is the former Chair of the Middle Polk Neighborhood Association and Co-founder of the Van Ness Corridor Neighborhoods Council comprising of ten neighborhood organizations along Van Ness Avenue focused on issues relating to planning, land use, public safety and transportation. Moe previously served as an economics, history, and forensics teacher in San Jose, California while attending Santa Clara University School of Law in where he graduated with a JD. He also holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley where he participated in a year-abroad program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong studying Chinese Politics, History, and Cantonese. Moe has also taught several courses at Santa Clara School of Law and Deanza College for nine years between 2007 and 2016 and began his legal career as Deputy Attorney General for the California Attorney General's Office where he prosecuted criminal appeals in felony cases on behalf of the People of the State of California and appeared regularly in the California Court of Appeal. Prior to joining the City Attorney's Office, Moe also served as a Deputy County Counsel for the County of Sonoma where he represented the Public Conservator, the Mental Health Department, the County Sheriff and the County Assessor in a wide variety of matters.On August 24, 2023, Moe declared his candidacy for the San Francisco Board of Supervisors District 3 for the election to be held November 5, 2024.
