Being in human resources has always fit with Maurice’s personality because he never meets a stranger and has a genuine concern for people. His passion for taking each situation and viewing it as if it was his own has guided him throughout his career. You will see Maurice at the hospital for the birth of an employee’s child, in the audience for the wedding of employees or their children, and in attendance for bereavement services for employees and their loved ones. Maurice states that the hardest part of his job is when an employee is terminated because it not only affects that employee but there are others that depend on that person earning a living. During the 90’s Maurice had the opportunity to spend a few years working in Mexico, Costa Rico, and El Salvador for Champion Products, a division of Sara Lee. Working with the nation's premier supplier of healthcare products and services has allowed Maurice to demonstrate his skills in yet another growing industry. Early in his career with Medline, Maurice has been recognized by the Atlanta Regional Commission for the work with providing training and job opportunities to an area that is in desperate need of job growth. This award has placed Medline in the forefront of Business Customer Service and placed the organization as an "Employer of Choice".A former Board Chair with the DeKalb County CASA Maurice and immediate past Board Chair of the South DeKalb Family YMCA where he monitored programs including basketball, soccer, summer enrichment programs serving over 1500 area youth, young adults, and seniors.
