SUPERVISION OVERClerical, technical and professional staff as assigned.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (This position may not include all of the listed duties, nor do all of thelisted examples include all tasks which may be found in this classification.)Manages a technology support/training staff and the telecommunications systems for the Computer, Networkand Telecommunications Support department (CNTS); oversees the support and repair of all computers andcellular devices; allocates staff and resources to serve customers and make sure timelines and technicalneeds are met; oversees the design, installation and configuration of telephone and data cablinginfrastructures at SCOE sites; responsible for managing budget for telecommunications costs; reviews bidsand quotes related to technology purchases; assesses feasibility of purchases and makes recommendations;maintains telephone system for organization; keeps current on discounts available through E-Rate, and otherresources for telecommunications reimbursement; maintains cost accounting database fortelecommunications billing; coordinates equipment and staff movement in the organization which involvetechnology; maintains and expands operation of training including all aspects of user support, technicalassistance, field-based user training, and training workshops for special groups; interfaces and consults withsuppliers, service vendors and staff to maximize the overall efficiency of operations; prepares reportsincluding budget projections and fixed assets; attends meetings, trainings and forums as necessary..MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The Technical Support Specialist's role is to ensure proper computer operations so that endusers can accomplish organizational tasks. This includes receiving, prioritizing,documenting and actively resolving end user help requests. Problem resolution may involvethe use of diagnostics and help request tracking tools, as well as require that the individualgive hands-on help at the desktop level.Knowledge & Experience Knowledge of basic computer hardware. Experience with desktop operating systems including Windows XP, Ubuntu Linux, and Mac OS X Extensive application support experience. Working knowledge of a range of diagnostic utilities. Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives. Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills. Strong documentation skills.
