Summer Jun 3rd, 2024 – Present Assisted in the design of a chemical feed system for a major wastewater treatment plant in the Houston metropolitan area. Supporting role included following the lead engineer’s markups on Bluebeam to create a disinfection tank room and pad in a sheet set on AutoCAD as well as pumping and instrument design schematics.  Continued ongoing assistance for the water transmission line project. Responsibilities involved coordinating with other utilities and updating communication logs, adjusting viewport and alignment on AutoCAD drawings, and aiding new interns by teaching with examples in this project. Spring Jan 9th, 2024 – May 15th, 2024  The first task involved creating polygon shapes around impervious areas over a large subdivision in the Houston area. The total area was to be compared to an A.I. model to compare error how significantly small-scale errors made by A.I. (including vegetation/shadows) impacted drainage billing by the City of Houston over a large area.  Aided in the design of Wastewater treatment plants, and lift stations, by following markups on Bluebeam from the Lead Engineers and completing them on AutoCAD.  Learned about the business and economics of how large-scale infrastructure projects are granted and planned and how small firms compete.  Aided in small tasks for the drainage team such as updating reports or organizing information.

Summer Jun 12th, 2023 - Aug 18th, 2023 Organized physical legal documents, such as field notes, by property section/parcel ID, and updated digital copies to ensure documents were up to date from when the COVID lockdown began.  Utilized AutoCAD, and learned the basics of ArcMap GIS, by analyzing deeds and other court documents to create boundaries of existing or proposed easements, and making sure the current documents are accurate. The main project included creating a topographic survey as a team with the other intern hired under the guidance of a supervising survey technician.
