For about a year now, DJ MoCity has been serving up “a delicious music spread for your head” on a weekly basis, introducing listeners from around the world to his eclectic selections. Restlessly seeking out new sounds, unknown producers, and in his words, that “new-new”, our hard-working, charismatic, mustached host-with-the-most has brought Motellacast to all corners of the globe. The podcast is an homage to the sounds that shape MoCity’s world. Facing an arduous early existence, this Iraqi national found tranquility and focus through music, drawing inspiration from the likes of Andrew Jervis (Bandcamp Weekly) and Joe Kay (Soulection) whose streams helped motivate and fuel the drive to keep moving and spread positivity. Now, regularly climbing Mixcloud downtempo, world music, and beats charts the podcast has really hit its stride. Whether recorded in a friend’s living room, an Uber car on the way to work, at home, or on the beach after a hearty fish meal each episode drops on Wednesday and delivers the goods.In the short span of just over 50 episodes guest appearances have grown in stature and profile. Helping to build community, bridge gaps across the musical panorama, and stay in touch with his fan-base, DJ MoCity has tapped up less-known but very talented artists such as DJ Sotusura, Tim Parker, Al-Sarah, and Radyous for a guest spot on his highly curated and well researched show. Growing rapidly, household names like Zed Bias, Kutmah, The Narcicyst, Daedelus, Om Unit, Alexander Nut, Maga Bo and Addison Groove have also sat comfortably chatting and sharing their influences and recent picks with Mo and his listeners. “Now this is the part about, something that you’re going have to learn to do, during this intro, (it’s just a few moments) you have to decide that you don’t care, what others think, of you.”

Reggae Rajahs are India's first reggae sound system. The crew of DJs and MCs are reggae entertainers and promoters based out of New Delhi. Formed in 2009, they have dedicated themselves to spreading the sounds of dub, reggae and dancehall music across India. They frequently perform at venues throughout the country and have played at festivals such as Sunburn Festival (Goa), SulaFest (Nashik), Enchanted Valley Carnival (Lonavala), Escape Festival (Naukuchiatal) and Ragasthan (Jaisalmer). They host and curate their own stage at the NH7 Weekender Festival called the ‘Dubstation’.Reggae Rajahs have opened for Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion in New Delhi and have also shared the stage with a number of established international artists such as Dub Inc. (France), Million Stylez (Sweden), Ziggi Recado (Holland), Tippa Irie, Apache Indian, Mr. Williamz, Brother Culture, Soom T, Deadly Hunta, Mungo's HI Fi, Gaudi, Dub Phyzix (all UK), Supa Bassie & Sargento Garcia (Spain), Subatomic Sound, South Rakkas Crew (both USA) and Dreadsquad (Poland) amongst others.In 2013, Reggae Rajahs started their own online weekly radio show called Pressure Drop on Radio79.com and also made their second appearance on the European tour circuit, performing at major festivals such as Rototom Sunsplash (Spain), Sziget Festival (Hungary), Outlook Festival (Croatia), Uprising Reggae Festival (Slovakia) and Ostroda Reggae Festival (Poland).Reggae Rajahs has now become a truly international sound with DJ MoCity representing the crew in Dubai, Kuala Lumpur and Istanbul, BeLights in Malta and Diggy Dang, General Zooz and Ziggy B in New Delhi.

Born in Baghdad, raised in New Delhi, and now based in Dubai, Mohammed Uraibi Abood (aka DJ MoCity) is a music entrepreneur and DJ with a passion for authentic music from all around the world. Since his early days as a hip-hop loving teenager in New Delhi, Mohammed has grown into a highly experienced and respected musical taste maker whose personal choices and interests have illuminated the way for thousands more to follow. By tirelessly pushing his sounds and the musicians he loves to new audiences, he has been a key figure in the development of the independent music scene in India, and in a few short years has left an indelible mark on the national scene. From being the founder of Reggae Rajahs (India’s first Reggae sound), to creating and running a series of successful club nights (Delitronica, The Future, Imported Goods) to creating and programming stages at major festivals such as the NH7 Weekender & Sunburn Festival, Mohammed has achieved a remarkable amount in a few short years. His endless drive comes not from self-serving ambition, but from a deeper place of pure love for music. His musical identity is derived from his own personal heritage and experiences, which are as diverse and multicultural as they come. While proudly Iraqi by heritage, he has been unable to engage in music-related business in his home country due to the volatile political situation over there. Rather than see this as a disadvantage, Mohammed has chosen to see this as an opportunity to truly be a citizen of the world.Currently, Mohammed is based in Dubai, involved with OHM Events, in addition to being heavily inspired by all kinds of ‘Electronica/Beats’ music. He represents Dualism Records from New Delhi and Super Best Records from Colorado as an international A&R agent, and is currently setting up his own weekly online radio show in Dubai showcasing the sounds of the future.
