As the Director of Legal Affairs at QNBN, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Qatar Investment Authority (the Qatar sovereign fund), I lead the Legal Department and provide strategic advice and guidance on all legal, policy, compliance and corporate matters. I have over 25 years of national and international experience in corporate law, working with leading law firms and multinational companies in Qatar, UAE, and Pakistan.Areas of experience and expertise include corporate and commercial, telecommunications, energy, mergers and acquisitions to name a few. My core competencies include drafting and negotiating complex contracts, managing legal risks and compliance, overseeing corporate governance and policies, and handling litigation and dispute resolution. I have successfully advised and supported Qnbn in achieving its vision of becoming the preferred broadband service provider in Qatar, facilitating the development of the digital economy and enhancing the quality of life for the citizens.Previously, I was a Partner at AQLAAL Advocates - a leading law firm in the fields of telecommunications and energy - for over 8 years, where I advised major telecom players including Jazz (Veon), Zong-China Mobile Pakistan, Ufone (Etisaslat) and energy companies like China International Water & Electric Corp (CWE), Karot Power etc. as well as the Government of Pakistan's Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB).From 2005 to 2007, I worked as Head of Corporate Legal Affairs with Jazz (then Mobilink) - Pakistan's largest cellular operator. Prior to that I worked in Abu Dhabi with a leading law firm for over three years.I have also served as a member of the board of directors of the Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, contributing to its growth and performance. I hold BA (Politics & History) and LLB degrees from the University of the Punjab, an LLM degree in International Business Law from the University of Hull, United Kingdom, and several professional certifications in law, drafting, general management, marketing, and emotional intelligence.
