Responsibilities in GAIL• To involve in the equipment internal activities such as Furnaces, Vessels, Storage tanks, Columns, Driers, Chemical reactors, etc• Coordinates with maintenance department to carryout various maintenance activities at the plant for smooth running of the plant without any equipment down time.• Monitoring plant conditions on a regular basis and participating in start-up and shut-down operations. • Operation of rotary and stationary machines/equipment like Centrifugal pumps, high pressure pumps, distillation column, chiller, filters and absorbers, etc• Checking Leakages, taking readings, reviewing pump and motor conditions.• Check for any abnormalities and reporting to the concerned departments.• Ensure proper use of PPE’s.• Review/check updating and amendment of PID’s & PFD’s.• Issuing work permits for blinding, deblinding, hot works, cold works, open flaming, etc• Collecting the samples and handing over to lab.• Monitors plant parameters and records in the Log sheet. Pre Commissioning and Commissioning :• Preparing leak test procedures and operational test procedures.• Hydro test, Card board blasting, Steam blowing, Air blowing, Water flushing and rupturing of pipe lines.• Instrument Loop checking, logic checking, etc.• Loading and unloading of catalysts.• Calibration of instruments, checking of the electrical equipment for proper earthling, continuity, insulation resistance, conducting operability test on individual equipment.• Ready for commissioning and start up checks.• To provide the presence in the field to reinforce HSE (Health, Safety, Environmental) messages during the pre-commissioning and commissioning periods.• Static, De-energized Test of Equipment.• Ensure Safety, operating, maintenance, and emergency procedures are in place and are adequate. All safety systems are functioning properly.• Provision of initial fill of packing, Chemicals, inhibitors, lubricants, water, etc.
