Eng. Mohammed Alameri is a Principal Space Projects Development Engineer within the Space Mission Department of the UAE Space Agency. Sponsored by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, Mohammed earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Utah, USA, graduating with Dean's List honors. His passion for space exploration led him to become a key player in spacecraft system engineering, contributing to the UAE’s growing space program.Mohammed's journey in space exploration began with the Emirates Mars Mission (EMM) as an Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) Engineer. In this role, he played a pivotal part in ensuring the spacecraft's readiness through intensive testing and integration activities. His work was crucial during the environmental test campaign, and he was one of the select few involved in the mission’s launch campaign amid the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic in mid-2020. This groundbreaking mission marked a significant milestone for the UAE, advancing our understanding of Mars.Building on his experience with the EMM, Mohammed is currently involved in the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt (EMA), an ambitious project slated for launch in 2028. As a spacecraft manager, he plays a key role in the mission, focusing on feasibility studies, requirements definition, Statement of Work (SoW) creation, architecture design, technical performance optimization, and system-level performance analysis. His expertise continues to be instrumental in the UAE’s exploration of the cosmos.In addition to his engineering work, Mohammed has contributed to several technical papers, covering topics such as spacecraft design, Mars glider concepts, and regional launch vehicle opportunities. He is dedicated to elevating the UAE as a leader in the global space sector and remains deeply committed to advancing the nation’s position in space exploration.
