RDIN is short for “Research, Development and Innovation Network” and is an integral component of the RDI Programme (A Programme of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research funded by the European Union).The RDIN mission is to promote and facilitate the participation of Egyptian researchers in the European Research Area while maximizing the potential for Egypt to fully benefit from available opportunities under the 7th Framework Programme.

- Developed and instructed lab experiments for course in Measurement Instruments & Electrical Tests- Wrote technical papers and journals

- Designed and implemented video compression architectures using FPGA design tools; resulted in five designs submitted to the MPEG-4 and H.264/MPEG-4 AVC standards- Designed and fabricated a processor-in-memory chip from the system level to working silicon using ASIC design tools- Developed and optimized video compression algorithms for efficient hardware realization- Wrote and published many technical papers and journals- Presented technical papers at national and international conferences- Reviewed many technical papers and journals

- Investigated the feasibility of realization of high definition video surveillance system on Xilinx FPGA- Developed novel intensity correction and nighttime contrast enhancement algorithms for video surveillance; resulted in one patent filled- Designed intensity correction and nighttime contrast enhancement architectures on Xilinx FPGA using VHDL- Wrote technical reports- Reviewed product specification documents
