I joined Central Depository Company of Pakistan Limited (CDCPL) in June 2014 as Deputy Manager Budgeting and Planning however within 2 months of joining my job responsibilities were enriched with; • preparation of presentations and work papers for Board of Directors and Management Committee,• supervision in direct taxation, • approving authority of payments, • ensuring imposition of indirect tax and tax (Direct and Indirect) deduction at source, • preparation of Financial Statements of the Company as well as the subsidiaries in accordance with International Financial Reporting Framework (IFRS), • supervision of finance function of wholly owned subsidiaries, and • coordination with External and Internal Auditor.Beside above assigned responsibilities I am also involved in the updation of the policies and procedures of the Finance department, leading Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) Implementation team and coordinating with External Consultants.Before joining CDCPL I completed my articleship, as stipulated by Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP), in Business Assurance Division of Grant Thornton - Pakistan where a well diversified portfolio of External Audit clients honed the following skills:• Quick learner easily able to adapt after working in over 10 different corporate cultures;• Proficient at being a junior member of a team as well as leading a team of 4 to 8 members locally and internationally; • Well developed planning and management skills as delivered on multiple assignments as audit senior;• Adroit at coping with stressful situations in a responsible fashion;• Experienced at liaison with external entities e.g. business clients, banks, lawyers, valuers, actuaries, etc.; and • Adherent to professional work ethic encompassing integrity, confidentiality and professional behaviour.
