Even though I’ve been an entertainer, a small business owner, and created events for non-profits, the one thing that set me up for success even decades later, began when I accidentally became a stunt double for Jane Fonda!The producer and cinematographer picked me out of a huge crowd at Caesars Palace because I had a similar physique...specifically from the back! It was my first gig as a stuntwoman and I was nervous, but I was determined not to show it. When they called me in for my scenes, I was expected to do EXACTLY what Jane did (only I had to take the falls). I was almost grateful to those nuns yelling at me in school to PAY ATTENTION! In the end, my diligence must have paid off because when we wrapped, I was requested to be her stunt double for other films.The moral of the story is that in the face of being pushed into new situations and opportunities, I thrived because I kept my composure, paid attention when it counted, and maintained a positive and professional attitude.Being a stunt double was not just beginners’ luck or luck of the Irish (hence the red hair), I’ve always had a silent inner confidence and an innate ability to adapt. Whether singing as a co-headliners in Toronto, Las Vegas, San Juan or Tokyo, spontaneously emceeing events, coordinating embassy dinners in Washington D.C. or being an integral part of getting bipartisan legislation passed for diabetes research funding—regardless of a solo job or a team project, people know they can count on me.P.S.
