Undergraduate School of Architecture- Center for Experimental Structures: Morphology- Technics

I partnered with the Wheeler School in Providence, RI to develop strategies for integrating inquiry-based design thinking into high school curriculum. I designed interdisciplinary, studio-based curricula and taught 18+ courses on design, engineering, and innovation, teaching high school students how to examine real-world issues, brainstorm ideas, and test those ideas through building physical prototypes using digital fabrication, electronics, and programming. I single-handedly managed a 850 SF digital fabrication space/wood shop, including balancing a budget. I was also responsible for presenting to investors, faculty, and students on design-thinking and program work, collaborating and advising teachers on projects within their own subjects, and recruiting students into the program. Over two years, I increased student enrollment in the program by 400% and student impact by more than 1000%. NuVu has distributed my teaching materials to other schools across the country and I have led virtual workshops in India and the US.

Researched fabrication techniques and applications of programmable materials by designing and making transformable prototypes using innovative fabrication methods such as jamming, liquid printed pneumatics, and auxetics.

Participated in the design and documentation of new construction and renovations for schools and higher education campuses with a special emphasis on performing arts spaces and campus master planning. Responsible for BIM modeling, CD sets, book design, diagramming, in-house animation, video editting, and 3D printing architectural models and prototypes.

Architectural Designer for educational, residential, and commercial architectural projects including adaptive reuse, mixed program buildings, renovation, and ground-up construction. Participated in every phase of design: zoning and code analysis, surveying + scope of project reports, schematic design, construction documents, and acted as the primary liaison for construction administration, leading meetings between clients, contractors, engineers, and fabricators for multiple projects. Responsible for design, shop documentation, and coordination with office’s fabrication shop to fabricate custom millwork and stand-alone furniture.

Responsible for helping students set up files, fabrication advice, running files, troubleshooting, and machine maintenance in the CNC Lab, 3D Print Lab, and Robotics Lab.

Met weekly with first to third year architecture students to provide technical and conceptual advice regarding design intention, representation techniques, fabrication methods, and computational tool-making methods for 10 semester courses.
