The Valdez is the freelance work my partner and I do together. Our focus has been working with artists, which has ledus to working with musicians, record labels, street-wear brands, and creative startups. The majority of our work consists of motion based work, building campaigns, social content, branding and music videos. We’ve also done a lot of commercial work for both small businesses and international brands including campaign strategy, creating social content, editorial work, global merchandise, fully animated videos, branding events and initiatives, art directing video shoots, and extensive packaging design.With a background in design and animation, our work has tended to be a combination of disciplines, creating holistic and multimedia visual worlds for artists and brands alike.

Along with managing the studio team, my work included strategizing and designing for national campaigns and social content, UX and UI design for websites, and art directing influencers. Work also included art directing and coordinating photo shoots, pitching creative work to clients, and concepting all gifting and packaging experiences for influencers.

Work included branding overhauls, web design, and creating national campaign strategies, from mass reach to broadcast. Other work included pitching all design concepts to clients, creating brand style guides, managing brand consistency across all platforms during campaign implementation, and collaborating closely with the data and dev teams.

Work included designing logos, designing for brand overhauls, working on campaigns, and web design. I also collaborated with our dev team on implementation of design work, external production teams for specialty printing work, and handled the package design for retail clients.

At DRC, I led the transition of their print culture magazine to an online publication, including designing the branding and website. Work included training teams on how to utilize social media channels, coordinated contributors, and photographed festivals like SXSW. Began as part time and eventually became a Senior Graphic Artist.
