Counsellor And Programmer
Brigadoon Village is a non-profit camp for children with chronic conditions. During the summer, there are twelve camps over nine weeks. I spend the weeks either counselling or programming. When counselling I am responsible for the enjoyment and care of up to six campers, who could be aged between 8 and 18. When programming, I create and deliver tailored cooking programs for a range of abilities and ages and a cooking pursuit program, which offers a greater level of learning and understanding skills. In addition, I work as part of a team delivering excellent, intentional special programs and schemes for the campers. I worked part of the spring season offering programming in a variety of areas including archery, team building, music and cooking for school groups and family weekend camps.
