Having only joined the team this past June, I am only aware of the few seasons I have worked: Summer, Fall, and Winter. Thus far, I have had the pleasure of conducting different research trials out in the field, partaking in all analytical lab work during harvest and learning several different farming softwares such as SureHarvest and ArcView which allows for vineyard GPS, historical data records and work orders. Currently working on developing the company’s first website.

Working for the Hospice du Rhone was incredibly challenging, yet satisfying. Revamping the entire volunteer program was the initial task. Developing shifts, times, and amount of volunteers needed per event was a task in itself. Then was able to turn to local resources and hunt for volunteers at Cal Poly through the WVIT Dept, Vines to Wines Club and the Parks & Rec. Dept. With a total of 215 volunteers, the 2009 Hospice du Rhone event was quoted as to have been “One of the best years because of the amazing volunteers!” I look forward to working with HdR again this coming spring. Work as an assistant and a consultant to the family business based in Seattle, Washington.

Working for the Apple Store Higuera Street has been nothing but a learning experience. Assisting with the store’s grand opening and working as a Mac Specialist for the first 7 months was an absolute honor. Then being promoted in January to a new worldwide position for Apple, the Concierge, shows how serious I am about customer service and making sure everyone leaves the store surprised and delighted. Being a team player and working well customers is why I still look forward to coming to work at such a prosperous and respected company.

Tasting room allowed for an extended growth of understanding their wines, how to describe them and recognize faults. Communicating with the public has always been a strong suit of mine, this skill allowed me to assist their Wine Club Director on multiple projects and summer events.

Working at Pacific was my first true vineyard experience. Being fortunate enough to dabble in multiple fields and tasks is what confirmed my every worry of wanting to become involved in the industry into a passion. I gained extensive experience in the vineyard performing berry and cluster sampling almost daily, pest control management, in depth lab work running samples daily for Brix, Titrations, and pH; and also performed vineyard analysis’ on each block being managed. With a fantastic team of mentors and leaders, I was able to take away alot from this internship and look forward to carrying this knowledge with me everywhere.
