I discovered my passion for communication and community engagement while earning my bachelor’s degree at the University of North Carolina - Greensboro. During my time at UNCG, I completed a qualitative research assistantship, a tutoring internship, and a fellowship in partnership with 6 Greensboro-area universities. These experiences gave me the opportunity to forge connections with members of my community. I was surrounded by nonprofit leaders, research and education experts, community history curators, and students driven to make a difference in the world around them. I found the most fulfillment assisting with community conversations and working with local leaders to further local and national justice initiatives. Before attending UNC Greensboro, I worked in the restaurant industry where I spent the majority of my time cooking, catering, and bartending. The restaurant industry ignited my love for a fast-paced environment that challenges me. I currently work as an Development Manager at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - Metro DC Chapter. I connect with community members, donors, and sponsors in order to fundraise and raise awareness for our mission to find a cure for all people with cystic fibrosis. In addition to leading fundraising initiatives throughout the year, I have had the opportunity to oversee our Great Strides, Cycle for Life, and Xtreme Hike team, lead our mass communications for the chapter, work with young professionals in our Tomorrow's Leaders program, and work with event volunteers.
