After 15 years in desktop publishing and graphic design—where I gained and practiced strong communicational, organizational, technological, financial, interpersonal, and managerial skills—I recently left this field to accommodate a cross-country job relocation for my wife. Our move afforded me an opportunity to reassess my professional life and, always having had an affinity for problem solving, teaching myself new things, and all things computer-related, I discovered a deep passion for programming.I recently graduated from Epicodus, an intensive 32-week bootcamp, where I coded all day, every day, learning and extensively using different technologies and techniques (Git and GitHub, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, React, Ruby and Rails, Test-Driven Development, and much more) and simulating a real-world, professional environment by continually pair programming and practicing robust communication and other soft skills. Prior to Epicodus, I spent years teaching myself a long list of technologies that eventually led to proficiency in Python and sparked my love for coding.As a junior software developer, I'm thrilled to be bringing my years of experience as both a product-creator and a manager to this new field, and I look forward to working as part of a team of professionals solving unique problems on exciting projects, writing clean code, and continuing to learn and grow.
