With over 30 years of teaching multiple grade levels and subjects, I have been designing video lessons and creating digital lessons that are age appropriate, engaging and aligned to grade level standards for many years. For the past 9 years I have worked, at the district level, as a Technology Resource teacher creating digital lessons and providing support to teachers and students in 45 elementary schools. I have been the “boots on the ground” for grades K-5 piloting and refining each standards-based lesson (which I have named Virtual Resource Companions) in conjunction with feedback from hundreds of classroom teachers and their students. I have been blessed with an innate gift honed by years of experience that allows me to take anything that needs to be learned from written curriculum, a teacher, book, video, or parent and make it into a fun, step-by-step, easy to understand, non-threatening creation-based lesson format. My project lessons and directions, give students the opportunity to decide how they want to show their learning in a variety of platforms and software programs like coding with Scratch Jr. and Scratch, using Canva, using Microsoft products, and using Apple products.I believe allowing students to learn and use higher order skills to prove their knowledge on a digital platform is an exciting and unique way to learn.
