As a researcher, I assess the influence of technology on interpersonal communication patterns, both socially (e.g., text messaging, email) and professionally (e.g., remote work chat, company emails). My expertise is in the computer-mediated communication of emotion. As a teacher, I design dynamic presentations to capture the attention of 100+ teenage and 20-somethings each semester. My core courses include a project-driven, writing-intensive Research Methods course, a multi-disciplinary Introduction to Psychology course, and an interactive brain-behavior Cognitive Psychology course.I also currently serve my employer in the role of Faculty Athletic Representative in the NCAA Division III, representing Chatham's student-athletes across 11 women's and 11 men's sports.I formerly served as the co-chair of the Internal Review Board, assessing the lawfulness and ethicality of research projects taking place in the University community.
