Evaluate and review transcripts from a variety of institutions to approve study abroad credits and articulation of transfer coursework credits pre and post-matriculation; review all requests for exceptions to degree plans and refer such requests to the appropriate resources for approval; certify progress for student-athletes for NCAA compliance. Supports new student orientation (traditional first-year, international, and transfer students), delivering presentations and serving as an advisor during the summer enrollment period. Advise students on program progress, campus-wide majors, minors, and certificates, and document strategies for degree attainment in individualized multi-semester plans. Give honest and realistic evaluations regarding students’ academic options. Seek and adapt to execute innovative and relevant programming. Conducted group advising sessions for a diverse caseload of 700+ students. Inform and guide students on the Entering Neeley Admission Experience.

Provided support to graduate and undergraduate students and faculty advisors through conducting group academic advisement sessions and training, individual degree planning sessions that include enrollment &/or course selection, and serving on the College Curriculum & Assessment Committee. Provided degree certification of graduation candidates by auditing all graduate and undergraduate student records ensuring that graduation requirements have been met; approving students for graduation in collaboration with the Registrar’s office. Recommended action steps or alternative strategies for students who are not on track to graduate. Served as a liaison between the Dean’s office and Schools/Departments as well as individual faculty in support of student degree progress. Engaged with parents of current and prospective students, making appropriate referrals to the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Schools/Departments, and other support services as appropriate. Developed and delivered presentations for academic programs (Experience TCU, College Orientation Presentations, College Board of Visitors annual events).
