My first memories of hair styling are me cutting and curling my dolls’ hair and then my own by the fifth grade. Initially, my mother was not too thrilled about me essentially ruining these toys she’d spent her hard-earned money to buy for me, but she let me do it, and I’m so glad she did. I was always interested in how I could create looks and it came so naturally to me! I also had the opportunity to learn professional hair care methods from licensed stylists and salon owners in my family.For many years, I helped countless friends and family members care for their hair which became my motivation for creating MoKnowsHair – to take the mystery out of healthy hair care and styling. To enhance my natural skill, I completed my cosmetology certification at Aveda Institute New York on full scholarship from the brand.
