Alternate Public Defender - Erin Callahan & Karri Iyama

- Ensure residents follow housing policies by writing incident reports and sending letters pertaining to lockouts, cannabis smells, quiet hours violations, and roommate disputes- Examine data related to residents, professional staff, and student staff and organize information into spreadsheets- Train new administrative assistants to use university software- Assist with planning and executing events that serve over 5,000 residents and prospective residents such as Opening, Closing, and Admitted Spartan Day

- Design all social media posts.- Created club website and update with new information and photos when needed.

- Created the peer mentor program with the president to help and support 1st and 2nd-year forensic science students.- Take meeting notes and inform 100+ general members of upcoming events.

- Led over 10 legal interviews between 2 separate clients and compiled information into a discretionary expungement declaration detailing client backgrounds and post-conviction transformations- Advocated for client in court at their record clearance hearing (May 2024)- Conducted 10 “speed screenings” that consisted of informing clients of their options for expungement and answering any questions they have about their record- Analyzed 20 state and county RAP sheets- Examined penal codes to evaluate whether or not a client is eligible for expungement - Completed and filed 8 Probation Department Record Clearance Applications to dismiss 23 convictions- Taught over 30 new students and 2 Stanford law students expungement laws, trained them for community education presentations, and assisted them with speed screenings- Presented on expungement to inmates at Elmwood County Jail in Milpitas, CA (October 2023 & March 2024)

- Design 4 to 5 posts and infographics for social media monthly.- Research and pitch ideas for those posts.- Critique 2 to 3 posts made by members per week.Committees: Instagram In-Feed, Critique, and Twitter
