Among other things, my memoir explores my rape at age 15, the impact of parentally-imposed social isolation during my teenage pregnancy, the emotional tumult of being an adopted child who also gives a child up for adoption, and the lasting effects of being physically and emotionally abused by my own father. While the events described in the book are distressing, the memoir is positive overall and focuses on survival and healing. Show less
