I was born in Canada, adopted by American parents, and raised in Alaska, where I spent the first sixteen years of my life and experienced the foundational events that shape my writing. My memoir, *Practically Still a Virgin, published in spring 2024, shares my journey as a fifteen-year-old adoptee navigating Alaska’s chaotic 1970s. After surviving an assault and being pressured to give up my baby, I spent decades searching for identity and family, ultimately uncovering shocking truths that reshaped my life. It’s a story of resilience, self-discovery, and love.I work as a marketing and software specialist in Sacramento, but I have also founded an eponymous skincare line and an international body care brand centered on natural, chemical-free ingredients. My entrepreneurial spirit is fueled by the experiences of my youth, which cultivated the fearless personality that prepared me to build, and direct successful industry-leading companies. I am the author of, *Practically Still a Virgin: An Adoption Memoir, Cold Processed Soaps and other texts on the manufacturing of natural products. I have published my creative work in the Anchorage Press, Women Writers, Women's Books and am a member of several groups for women writers. My writing focuses on identity, rebellion, self-doubt, and—most importantly—growth. Among other things, my memoir explores my rape at age 15, the impact of parentally-imposed social isolation during my teenage pregnancy, the emotional tumult of being an adopted child who also gives a child up for adoption, and the lasting effects of being physically and emotionally abused by my own father.
