Being able to assist and help others is something I have always enjoyed and valued. As a kid and a college student, I loved volunteering in my community, specifically in organizations that helped individuals find better opportunities. After all the volunteer work I took part in, I came to the conclusion that I wanted to work with individuals with barriers and/or individuals seeking refugee/asylum.I finished up my bachelors degree at UT Austin, where I learned how to apply critical thinking to overall problems and develop skills for research, projects and presentations. In my undergraduate studies, I took a leadership role in my university's advocacy group for refugees and asylum seekers. Every week, we would focus on a certain topic to educate our peers on policy changes and provide opportunities for advocacy. I am always open to chatting about human rights policies, such as gender equality, immigration policies, and rights to education/work.
