As of October 2017, I have been appointed as city councillor for the VVD in the council of Geldrop-Mierlo. Also I will be the VVD leader for the upcoming city council elections 2018.

At Boels Zanders, I work as an attorney-at-law. My practice mostly consists of privacy/data protection, international commercial law, intellectual property (IP) and IT. Also I am leading the privacy team. ----Monica Leenders is gespecialiseerd in privacyrecht en intellectueel eigendom en teamleider van team Privacy. Monica is ervaren in adviseren en procederen op het gebied van handelsrecht, zij adviseert en procedeert voor (inter)nationale ondernemingen en (semi)publieke instellingen. Op privacy-gebied adviseert Monica haar cliënten onder meer over het verwerken van persoonsgegevens, de meldplicht datalekken en de implicaties van de Europese Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG). Monica heeft bij een groot aantal organisaties ondersteund met implementatie van de AVG, bijvoorbeeld door het beleid op te stellen, de werkwijze in lijn te brengen met de AVG en door als externe FG op te treden. Door de ervaring die Monica heeft opgedaan in het privacyrecht, kan zij haar kennis en kunde ook bijdragen als externe FG voor een organisatie. Diverse organisaties zijn verplicht om een FG aan te stellen. Hierdoor wordt voorkomen dat er spanningen tussen taken ontstaan, gezien de ontslagbescherming die een interne FG geniet.Verder begeleidt en adviseert Monica ondernemingen in handel en industrie op het gebied van (internationale) commerciële contracten en geschillen. Daarnaast adviseert Monica op het gebied van intellectueel eigendomsrecht (IE), met name ten aanzien van het merkenrecht, handelsnaamrecht en reclame.Monica is advocaat bij Boels Zanders sinds 2012. Ze heeft gestudeerd aan de Universiteit van Tilburg en heeft een gespecialiseerde masteropleiding op het gebied van informatierecht gevolgd aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam. Monica is aangesloten bij de Nederlandse Vereniging voor Procesrecht, de Vereniging Privacy Recht en het Nederlands Genootschap voor FG’s.

I was assigned to manage and set up a new web shop under the name piercings.nl. Besides that, I was responsible for contract management and financial accounts.

At the end of 2005, E-Law became part of the greater student union Magister JFT. As a result, the chamber for Law & Technology was created, still holding on to E-Law's original principles. Now, E-Law points its angles to the areas of biotechnology, e-commerce and the internet, information- and communication technology (ICT), intellectual property (IP), media and information law, privacy and telecommunications law. These are not your everyday subjects, but subjects which every law student will encounter nonetheless. Private law often involves contracts concerning internet and criminal law entails for an important part computer crime and DNA. Through the year, several activities have been organised which touch upon these subjects, for example lectures, company visits and workshops.Technology-chamber of study society Magister JFT | law faculty associationI was (co-)responsible for organizing activities, administration of registrations, point of contact to students. We organized a lecture on identity fraud, a visit to CCTV, visit to law firms Bird & Bird and to Dirkzwager, visit to the European Commission, to BOIP, three-day visit to Genève and in particular to CERN, debate on E-commerce & Pharmaceuticals.
