In these roles, I do all of the following:• Inspire 1st and 2nd year University students achieve their academic and technical writing goals• Create opportunities for engineering students to engage in experiential learning • Assist students develop written and oral communication skills for use in school, work, and life• Guide students to develop skills in analysis, research, critical thinking, and synthesis• Promote higher-level literacy, including comprehension and evaluation of sources• Assist students to produce real world problem-solving proposals and reports• Cover document design and layout • Act as a mentor for students and colleagues• Advise on course creation and re-design As an editor, I have • Reviewed academic textbooks for publishers like Oxford University Press, Pearson Education • Created study tools for students, both print and online (e.g. Oxford UP companion website)• Participated in panel discussions and presentations on writing and learning• Offered technical writing workshops for local consultants
