I was hired to implement a document management system and to standardise and improve upon the company’s existing documentation offering. My work with IT Dynamics allowed the company to create a Documentation Service offering which we have extended to other companies within the Kwaden Group. Highlights include: • Spearheading the implementation of a company-wide document management process (including change control and approval processes) for IT Dynamics and SGX Logistics.• Implementing a centralised, searchable document library in SharePoint Foundation.• Upgrading and standardising the existing documentation with an emphasis on accuracy and consistent user experience.• Developing end-user assistance documentation for customised ERP solutions and in-house mobile software solutions.• Developing technical documentation to assist support technicians and new developers.• Implementing a company-wide documentation standard for IT Dynamics and SGX Logistics communicated via a comprehensive Style Guide.• Creating a consistent tone for all internal and external company communication.• Designing a set of company-wide templates (Word, PowerPoint and Adobe interactive forms) to ensure a cohesive brand for IT Dynamics and SGX Logistics.• Creating a searchable database of knowledge base articles that yields relevant results based on permissions.• Working closely with SMEs in the Finance and Technical teams to develop task-specific how-to articles with the aim of breaking down knowledge silos.

I was hired as the company’s dedicated hardware technical writer working with installation manuals and product specification catalogues a range of access control hardware. I was afforded the opportunity to grow into a software technical writer role, maintaining the online help and software user manuals for the company’s entry-level and mid-rand access control software.
