Job AccountabilitiesTo provide Electrical engineering support within defined area of responsibility, which may include carrying out electrical maintenance, repairs and improvements to ensure existing operations remain safe and reliable, and/or designing the electrical systems and equipment for new plants to ensure power is produced and used in the safest, most efficient and cost-effective way.To assist with tasks involving design philosophy, scope definition, equipment specification, engineering calculations, construction, commissioning and start-up, along with ongoing operations.To act as a point of contact on discipline-related questions and supports management of data and delivery of analyses.To regularly interact with operations and maintenance personnel in the field to enrich own operations knowledge and support the area’s activities including, as needed, its self-verification and Control of Work processes.To identify and deliver recommendations for process improvements and optimization and assist in coordinating Management of Change (MoC) processes.To actively participate in BP technical networks and communities of practice, maintaining a strong awareness of technical learnings and develop links with specialists and engineers from a range of disciplines.To follow BP's Engineering Principles, complies with BP's Code of Conduct, and models BP's Values & Behaviours.

Job Accountabilities To accompany electrical engineers and technicians both on the field and in the control room for the Phoenix Park Valve Station facility to gain an understanding of the day to day activities and procedures carried out which ensure the safe and reliable operation of the facility.To work alongside an information technology technician to gain an understanding about how the ClearSCADA Terminals (i.e. the Control System for Phoenix Park Valve Station) were monitored from the remote location of the office. Key AchievementsCreated a standard operating procedure based on team inputs detailing how the Motor Control Center at Phoenix Park Valve Station would be maintained. The document incorporated the relevant industry standards, safety practices and the step by step electrical preventive maintenance procedures.Conducted research to assist technicians in troubleshooting a transient voltage surge suppressor (TVSS) which was registering an abnormal amount of 'hits' both when the main 12kV transformer was shut down and turned on.Conducted research to assist technicians in repairing the Earth Rite RTR Static Grounding System located at the Phoenix Park Valve Station.Assisted in the auditing of software change forms for SCADA Systems i.e. ensuring the forms correctly captured all the changes made to the SCADA system.Ensured that the human machine interfaces on the ClearSCADA System for the Phoenix Park Valve Station matched the upgrades and changes being made to the station.Assisted with the editing and reviewing of the tender documents which detailed the technical and functional requirements for a ClearSCADA upgrade.Assisted with the editing and reviewing of the SCADA Manuals.

Job AccountabilitiesTo develop a basic electrical and process based understanding about the power generation process for Powergen by working alongside the electrical engineering supervisor/ engineer and technicians.To develop an understanding of the electrical maintenance procedures, repairs and improvements carried out which ensure the safe and reliable operation of the facility by accompanying the electrical engineering supervisor/ engineer and technicians.To identify an area for improvement (process, environmental or otherwise) and deliver a recommendation to address the issue or optimize the asset identified. Key AchievementsAssessed the feasibility of safely burning plastic waste to produce heat that can be used within the existing process, thus improving efficiency and increasing its power producing capabilities.
