Lessons benefited the students, and the teaching process and experience benefited one teaching partner. Karissa encouraged research-based, student-centered teaching practices, including using formative assessments, implementing pre, during and post reading and listening activities, teaching the four skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) at every lesson, using positive reinforcement, employing consistent classroom management techniques, and promoting equitable practices.
