I had the opportunity to act in the Interface Manager role to support MTM while a colleague took extended leave. In my time in this position, I was responsible for driving the work relating to the HCMT Project with a focus on MTM internal processes.My main areas of focus were:• Concept of Operations relating to rolling stock fault management and tracking systems.• Concept of Operations relating to external party support roles and their interactions with operational staff.• On site facility readiness tracking.• Staff/Operation coordination for rolling stock transfers.• Regular and long form senior management reports.Additionally, I offered operational SME input, drawing on my Victorian and New South Wales front line experience.

As an HCMT Training and Simulator Specialist, it is my role to develop, author, and deliver key elements of the new High Capacity Metro Train training courseware. In addition to this, I will also take part in the development of simulator based training packages that will consolidate training content and ensure competence in train drivers. As the HCMT is being designed whilst we are beginning to shape the training framework, I am required to be able to liaise confidently with the various stakeholders representing the wide array of disciplines that are needed to bring such a complex package together. Furthermore, I am required to present their information in a concise and role relevant manner to the operational staff that will be interacting with the HCMT on a daily basis. In addition to my role in the development of training programs, I have been able to bring my experience as a Train Driver and On Job Trainer forward by participating in user groups that help shape the design and function of the HCMT.
