About Gerardo Morales

My name is Gerardo Morales and I’m an enthusiastic operations leader with strong lean deployment experience. I’m fluent in English, German, French, and Spanish, and have an education including a Mechanical Engineering with minor in Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree from Tecnologico de Monterrey, a Masters of Sciences in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, and a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia University.Through my employment with diversified industrial corporations like Eaton, Danaher, and ITW, I successfully led continuous improvement initiatives exceeding targets of conversion costs improvements. As General Manager with Danaher at a site in Barcelona, Spain, I was responsible for the integration of a recent acquisition into Danaher’s Water Quality Group. I led the deployment of lean tools including 5S, SW- Standard Work, and elements of DMS-Danaher Material System (Dynamic Kanban) achieving productivity improvements of over 200% with same headcount. Additionally, through the conversion of key components sourcing to Danaher preferred vendors, we were able to achieve over 30% costs savings in PPV (Purchased Price Variance) by maximizing scale.I’m passionate about lean deployment, and have taken full lean conversion at companies under my responsibility - from the moment of teaching and leading a VSM Kaizen event to following a lean plan per defined Kaizen bursts. An example of this experience was demonstrated during my 5 years tenure at ITW as Business Unit Manager of a ca. $40M chemicals processing business, where we achieved a top line 12% CAGR with net profit improvements of over 600 bps.
