CurrentChampion sexual and reproductive health equity and justice in health policy, with a focus on Medicaid and nondiscrimination rights. HIGHLIGHTS+ Lead NHeLP’s work on nondiscrimination in sexual and reproductive health care, sexual and reproductive health equity for people with disabilities, and closing the Medicaid expansion coverage gap. + Coordinate health policy movement lawyering work with national reproductive justice organizations on issues such as closing coverage gaps, fighting health care discrimination, and halting attacks on Medicaid. + Build and coordinate coalitions, including the National Coalition for Gender Justice in Health Policy (co-chair), Medicaid and Reproductive Justice Collective (coordinator), and Health Equity and Accountability Act Title V Working Group (chair). + Draft legislative text, regulatory comments, advocacy letters, and publications on Medicaid eligibility and nondiscrimination issues affecting access to care for Black, Latine, and other people of color, people with disabilities, immigrants, and people who live at the intersections of these identities. + Represent NHeLP before federal agencies and Congress. + Provide legal and policy counsel and analysis to Congressional and federal agency staff, coalition partners, legal aid attorneys, policy advocates, the media, and researchers. + Established NHeLP’s cross-movement initiative to build advocacy capacity to advance sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice in Medicaid with Southern state partners. + Co-coordinate legal internship program.
