• Senior Developer in the LiveIP Software Toolkit [1], a tool to help system integrators and hardware manufacturers to validate their solutions against SMPTE 2110 for IP-based live production facilities. Mostly worked on the core C++ libraries and Node.js backend.• Senior Developer in a collaboration project with Matrox Video for the development of VERO [2], the first commercial product for signal generation and diagnostics of SMPTE's ST2110 environments. Implemented most of the core Node.js backend that mediates the interaction between the C++ media/networking libraries and Web UI. • Core developer of the Linux/Node.js cryptomat system that spread across four hardware generations and both x86 and ARM architectures.• Developed drivers to control alarms, LEDs and thermal printers.

• Designed and developed a facial recognition application that was used at the headquarters of the Portuguese Football Federation.• Designed and developed a real-time CCTV object detection system that was deployed in several commercial areas in Luanda, Angola.• Designed and developed the backend of a multimedia editing and rendering service using Python, FFMpeg and Electron.• Managed a small team of two junior developers during the projects described above and wore all sorts of hats like one does at a startup.

Briefly worked on the Optiq trading platform. Aided in the development of the FIX endpoints and the transition for a single-product/multi-market approach.

• Significantly reduced the duration of the build process of the main product line.• Played a major role in the implementation and optimization of the UltraHD/4K real-time uncompressed video capture system.• Implemented a low-footprint HTTP server to be used as a library across several components of the main product line.• Improved automatic services discovery in local networks using Bonjour.

•Designed and developed a crowdsourcing application for validation, transcription and annotation of audio recordings for speech recognition.• Co‐authored Transcribing and Annotating Speech Corpora for Speech Recognition published at HCOMP2013 [1].• Developed a cloud‐based service that aggregated data from swarms of IoT sensors.
