About Morgan Andersen
CREATIVE and ADAPTABLEMorgan has long been in love with the magic of theatre. The idea of creating a world that, even though it is finite, touches the people both on and off the stage is one of her greatest thrills. Costumes help create a short hand to guide the audience into the world of the show. At a glance, they can tell you about the character, the world they inhabit, and the mood of the piece. For Morgan, being able to play even a small part in creating that magic is a dream come true.Cultivating a wide array of costuming skills has allowed Morgan to diversify her work, and become an invaluable asset. Whether it is diving into designs, construction of complex costume pieces, hair and make-up, or a mountain of show paper work, she brings all her knowledge and then some to the table, calling on both her experience and her enthusiasm to find and learn new skills. She has a collaborative, energetic spirit, and wants to make sure every show is the best it can be.Most recently, Morgan was excited to be a part of Cirque Du Soleil. She worked for several years on The Beatles: LOVE before helping Cirque establish and develop their experimental Costume Service Center that serviced all the resident shows in Las Vegas. There, she honed her skills not only in costume crafts, but also communication and documentation, expanding her role to include duties that required direct liaison with the local shows and the corporate teams in Montreal. Morgan’s design portfolio has a wide array of shows. While working with Arizona Broadway Theatre she designed many of her favorite musicals including Into the Woods, Singin’ in the Rain, and Young Frankenstein. While she loves all aspects of costuming, design is one she loves to indulge in and looks forward to many more productions in the future.During the Pandemic, Morgan has started a YouTube channel to keep her passion of sewing and costumes alive in a different format. The project has brought her new challenges and skills. She has picked up skills in filming, editing, and social media, while trying to create and grow the channel. When not working on costumes, Morgan is a huge nerd, spending her time playing games, read fantasy novels, or enjoying her favorite shows and movies.
