Responsible for the development of the denim and casual bottoms categories, and eventually was given the outerwear and suiting categories. Reported directly to the Wovens Director and Senior Designer. Proposed new trends, silhouettes, finishings and washes for these categories. Handled style development, from initial sketch to tech pack, and finally, offering feedback to technical and merchant teams at production fittings. Worked on special projects to create marketing tools for denim fit guides and denim fabrics with technical properties, including hang tags and presentations for the Design Director and company President. Created a digital and physical denim library for denim wash references, for company use. Attended trade shows with the Wovens Design Director, to meet with denim vendors and negotiate fabric selection. Regularly shopped retail stores for inspiration and to understand the company’s competitors. Visited the company’s stores monthly and read weekly sales reports to better understand the floorset and our customer’s needs, and worked with merchants to create weekly sales recaps for the Wovens Director and Senior Designer. Implemented a recycling program and organized an in-office recycling class.

Scheduled and led all development fittings, and supervised custom sample development for bridal and eveningwear clients. Created and updated development tech packs with flats and construction information across all categories for local and overseas samplemakers, using Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Excel, and managed all communication. Assisted on embellishment layouts using Adobe Photoshop, as well as attending embellishment and fabric vendor meetings. Implemented and managed the design and production internship program from start to finish, including day to day task management and payroll. Ordered and tracked supplies for design team.
