The North American expert in the implementation and operation of Canon Print Solutions Project Eiger textured printing process, a unique and very expressive CMYK 2.5D print capability. One of 4 exclusive installtions worldwide.Developed and implemented a new parametric configuration of low cost and highly effective cardboard packaging for the shipment of an endless size variety of framed and unframed prints. The packaging can be sized to each print and cnc cut on-demand, on-site, as needed for each order. Damage claims have dropped to zero since spring 2022 implementation.Selected the facility, planned and managed renovations in early 2022 for the move of the Arius head office and production facility to Richmond, BC. -

Transferred the production process and system from our former US partner to our facility in Vancouver.Developed a new method of mould production using 2.5D printing and modular assembly with integral registration to revamp existing processes for much higher image placement accuracy and quick changeover. A multi-week epoxy casting-based mold production process was reduced to 2 day printed process.Reconfigured machinery and process of the production line setup to reduce a 1 hour change over per image to less than 5 minutes, with pre-defined and repeatable image registration.Selected and planned implementation of ERP (Odoo) to replace MS office processes. Implementation paused. Project is waiting for business case and sales demand to justify project restart.Management of facility and health and safety. -

Worked in parallel with an ASME pressure vessel engineering consultancy to meet ASME specifications. Generated and managed tender for ASME and other components for the project. Designed a large impact dynamic test rig for the off-line assembly and testing of the pneumatic driver assemblies, both cold and at elevated working temperatures. Worked as part of the experimental team to commission and run compression tests on this test rig.2014-Initial design work on the first iteration of a tokomak-configured version of the small-scale plasma injectors used for plasma stability and compression experiments. -

Partnered with the Prototype Center Manager to develop sourcing strategies and vendors to enable rapid prototyping capabilities in machining, sheet metal, electric cabling and pcb assembly. These capabilities were aligned with our in-house machine shop capabilities to facilitate and speed up the internal development processes of Creo/Kodak.2008-2010-Engineering Team Lead-VLF CTP Production Transfer. Lead a team of 7 Engineers plus support staff in the transfer of product production to a third-party contract manufacturer.2010-Redesign and build of new version of a CTP Geometric correction table. A static camera-based co-ordinate measuring tool for production calibration of CTP devices. -
Development/ Production TechnologistCreo 1995 - 20051995-1999-Mechanical Designer on the VLF Trendsetter CTP product team. Stayed with the project after production release to refine and cost reduce the platform, as the initial expectation of 20 total orders of this high value niche product expanded into a total product run of ~ 1500 total. 1998-1999-Ablative Media debris removal project. Developed a test protocol and testing rigs for measurement of airborne particulate generation rates, followed by the design of a production implemented vacuum and filter module for the capture of generated debris at customer installation sites.1999-2003 Mechanical Designer on the Switchable Polymer Digital Offset press project. Designed heated drying systems, other subsystem support, and ran experiments in co-ordination with the chemistry team.2003-2004- Mechanical Designer on the Fugu Newspaper CTP Project for the Japanese market. Transitioned the product to the production line after design was completed.
