As soon as I saw an opportunity to jump back into my passion space of Learning and Development while remaining at the organisation I was thriving at - I was straight in there! In this role, I started out in a fairly-traditional classroom style facilitation space which morphed naturally over the years into a more digitally-enabled blended learning approach. This included the use of augmented reality to build engagment and excitement in an in-person environment. Flash forward to 2020, I took 12 months of parental leave, and came back to a COVID-era environment and immediately set to work building more engaging and interactive virtual workshops.

In this role I started out in the customer facing space and recruited predominantly contact centres and branches. In particular I loved the buzz of contact centres and pace of volume recruitment. With mostly entry-level and cohort based roles in my portfolio, I found a lot of joy connecting with people who were new to corporate life, finishing up studies, transitioning between careers or industuries, or had found their happy place in fast-paced contact centre work. I then moved into a specialist portfolio, where I gained more exposure to sourcing and market mapping. I also built relationships across other sides of our business including Properties, Procurement, Risk, Product, Marketing, Strategy, and Technology. I enjoyed taking a partnership based approach and finding exciting, experienced, and values-aligned talent for Westpac.

Working for Sephora was so much fun. I started in a retail cashier role, progressed to makeup application and skincare consultations, and got my start in Learning & Development as a product expert. This gave me the opportunity to travel the country, balance competing priorities, and get intensive experience and coaching as a facilitator.
